YOUR ROLE AS A SPEAKER

As a speaker at ESC Boston, it is your responsibility to submit an electronic version of both your class notes and a technical white paper (8-15 pages) that will be included on the proceedings CD. In addition the class notes will be posted on our website for registered attendees to download prior to the conference. Please do not send hardcopies of these materials. These notes should be emailed to Andy Saldaña at ESCSpeakerServices@techinsights.com.

Note: Power Point slides or class notes are not a substitute for the technical paper.

Class Note Guidelines:

• Format: PDF and PPT
Please submit your class notes in both pdf and native file formats. We will not distribute or post the Power Point (or other native files). Place the class title, the class number and your name prominently at the beginning of your document. When you submit a PDF, please prepare the file with two slides per page (handout view).

• Fonts: Please use standard fonts in your presentations. Some examples are Arial, Times New Roman and Courier. We want to avoid the possibility of some attendees not being able to view your notes because of the font used.

• Company Logo: Please refrain from placing your company logo on your slides.

• Content: Ideal material includes general session overviews, copies of slides and or files, notes, diagrams, and problem solving exercises. The content of your notes will depend on the format of your actual presentation.

• File Naming: Please use the following format for labeling your class notes:

“Session NumberSlides_lastname.ppt”
For example, for Session ESC-206 with Speaker John Smith should be named as follows:
“ESC-206Slides_Smith.pdf”

If you have any other content you’d like to provide for attendees, you are welcome to submit additional files.

Technical Paper Guidelines:

Conference white papers are a requirement of speakers at the Embedded Systems Conference. They are of utmost value to our attendees. Papers must be submitted for all classes, excluding tutorials.

• Format: PDF
For proceedings and archival purposes, please submit your paper as a PDF. If submitting your paper as a PDF isn’t possible, please contact Andy Saldaña. Place the class title, the class number and your name prominently at the beginning of your document.

• File Naming:
Please use the following format for labeling your proceedings papers:

Session NumberPaper_lastname.pdf

For example, for Session ESC-206 with Speaker John Smith should be named as follows:

“ESC-206Paper_Smith.pdf”

• Insert the graphics in your document:
Do not “link” the graphics to your document. All graphics, pictures, charts, figures, and etc. should be inserted (embedded) into your electronic file.
